Played for a fool

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

Last July I ordered several items of clothing from a merchant on Ebay.  When they arrived, one was not the size advertised, and one was damaged.  I noticed these flaws AFTER I left positive feedback.  (Note to self, inspect everything carefully before leaving positive feedback!)

So I contacted the merchant, who told me that he did NOT want me to return them, but that he would replace them.  So I waited a couple of weeks, and asked for a progress report and was told “so sorry, we’ll be shipping them tonight.”  A couple more weeks, and still nothing.  My inquiries to the merchant have now remained ignored, so I am assuming that the merchant has “stiffed” me at this point and has no itention of doing the honorable thing.

This looks like such fun!

This looks like an Improv Everywhere stunt – but I don’t think it is.  Apparently it’s a commercial for Volkswagon.  But the fast lane slide sure looks like a lot of fun!

Nutritional help for fibromyalgia?

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

There is a product called Capra Flex that claims that it is good for joint health and relieves fibromyalgia.  One of my uncles suffers from fibromyalgia, and my mother is going to order a bottle of this for him and see if it helps relieve his symptoms.  My mother was told about this Capra Flex by one of our neighbors, who swears that it helps her husband.

Cool mouse

I found a new kind of computer mouse that is called a wireless air mouse that I think is just about the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.  I want to buy one, and I found a great deal on one from a website called bestonlinecoupons.com. This wireless air mouse you don’t even have to put on a mouse pad or any kind of surface, you can just wave it in the air!  How cool is that!  The mouse that I have right now is the standard mouse that uses a USB cable to connect to the computer and you have to use it on a mouse pad.  Imagine the freedom I can have if I don’t have to have it connected with a cable and can just wave it in the air!

A reading debate – is reading comics really reading?

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

I can remember when I was younger, I read everything I could get my hands on.  I love to read!  I always HAVE loved to read!  When I was babysitting a neighbor’s kid a few nights ago, I brought a book with me to read after the kid was asleep.  The mother asked me how I would suggest she get her kid to read more.  I told her to let her kid read whatever interested her – even if it meant just reading comic books or reading things over the Internet.  Reading is reading, it doesn’t matter what the medium is.  If you take away your kids comic books, and that is the only thing the kid WILL read, you are hurting the chances of the kid ever developing into a good reader and moving on to other things.  I brought that up because when I was younger my father always complained that I was wasting my time reading comic books.  Well, I’m an avid reader, and I think that reading comic books encouraged me to read more things!  So, parents, if your kids want to read comic books, then let them read comic books!
